Mandatory Gear

Choosing suitable gear is a key factor to the success of your race. Be sure to test your kit and your gear before the big day to avoid unwanted surprises.

WHY IS MANDATORY GEAR REQUIRED?

During the month of August, in Mont-Tremblant, the weather can get very hot and sometimes humid (more than 30 °C) and can quickly drop at night. Your gear must be suitable for confronting all types of conditions and allow you to spend one or two nights outdoors, on the trail, depending on your speed. In case of an incident, your gear must also allow you to wait for the rescue team in sufficiently safe conditions.

You must carry your gear in a bag that we will tag when you receive your bib and you cannot change it during the race. You must carry the mandatory gear with you during the whole race - from start to finish - or you will be penalized. Race marshals and/or stewards may check your gear at any time during the race.

Don't forget that the gear we request includes an essential list of basic items that each trail runner must adapt according to their own abilities. We highly recommend you to test it during training sessions under different conditions and to carry everything you need with you.

Music : Listening to music using earphones only, is tolerated, so long as it is safe to do so. Any earphones MUST be removed when crossing any roads, as well as on approach to, and whist at, any checkpoints and when approaching and passing any Safety members.
